FAQs

subdance-dance-studio-canberra-faq

I am not very fit / coordinated, will I be able to dance?
Yep! That is the beauty of dance! Classes cater for people at all levels of dancing ability.

I have never done dancing before. Where should I start?
We hold FREE open days at the start of Terms 1 and 3 which is a great way to come and try any of our classes and to meet instructors.

If you’ve missed the open day, that’s ok too! Check our timetable for times, pick one that suits your level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and come along. You can pay for classes casually, or you can pay for a term pass.

What do I need to bring?
Please bring along a towel if it’s hot, a water bottle, and a big smile!

What clothes do I wear?
Dancing requires a lot of movement from your clothes. Loose fitting or exercise clothes are the best. Sneakers or dance shoes are recommended.

I am a person living with a disability. Am I able to still come to class?

Yes! We want to welcome people of all abilities to our dance studio. Please contact our studio if you wish to discuss how we can cater for you or any reasonable adjustments you may need.

How long are your terms?
We have four terms per year that run for 10 weeks each with a 2 week break in between. Current term dates are displayed with our timetable.

What can I use my missed classes on?
If you have purchased a term membership for a dance course, you can use missed classes on any other class on the current timetable of equal or lesser value before the end of the term. This does not include term holidays or special workshops.

Can I still enrol for the term if it has already started?
Yes! Should you enrol before Week 5 of term, we can still arrange a membership for the remainder of the term. After Week 5, students can pay the casual rate.

What’s a performance term?

Term 2 and Term 4 at Subsdance are our performance terms. This means that at the end of the 10 weeks, we put on a student concert. Performing isn’t mandatory and you can still come and dance as per normal even if you don’t want to perform. Further information about performance terms and FAQs…
