Big Changes Incoming x
Over the years, Subsdance has evolved into a haven for dance, fitness, performance, entertainment, art, and joy. This evolution means that we have outgrown our old Kingston studio, and we are taking steps towards a new bigger and brighter chapter.
That’s right, we are moving!
We are moving into not just one, but TWO new locations based in Phillip and Fyshwick; or as you’ll come to know them, the Sunlight & Moonlight studios.
☀️ Our Phillip location is the Subsdance Sunlight Studio hub, and is much like what you’re familiar with as our studio today. This is where you’ll be able to find the bright and joyful styles like Afro Beats, Reggaeton, Caburlesque, Sass and Booty, as well as fitness classes like Zumba and classes & workshops yet to be announced.
🌙 The Moonlight studio in Fyshwick is where our performance & event dreams will come to life. Not only will you find classes here like Drag, Chair and Heels, After Dark, Burlesque, and new takes on some of your favourite classes, but this space will also be home to a brand-new entertainment venue, fully equipped to host shows, parties, photo & video shoots, and much, much more.
Sunlight Studio is located at 14-16 Dundas Court, Phillip, ACT
Moonlight Studios is located at 151-155 Gladstone St, Fyshwick, ACT
Please note that we are still working on renovations to both these venues and this impacts our accesibility.
While we will be up and running for classes by our Open Days at the end of January, we will continue to make additions and modifications to finish our venues and make them more accessible. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive space, and these venues do not yet meet those standards. WHAT’S NEXT
As you might imagine, we all have a lot of feelings. We are excited. We are full of ideas. We are a little bit terrified (in the best way!). As we make this beautiful transition, we thank you sincerely and wholeheartedly for your patience. The Tiger Team & all our staff are gearing up for a big couple of months, and your understanding truly means the world. This is a BIG undertaking, and we are just human beings after all!
At the end of the day, Subsdance is what it is because of you – our students. You fill our studios and stages with such great moves and warm energy, and we would not be able to continue to grow without your ongoing support. I hope you are as excited as we are to make this change, and that we will still see your faces smiling and bodies moving in our new spaces. We are forever grateful for your support.
When I was little, I used to imagine a space, that was so safe and welcoming, we could all just be ourselves; exactly as weird, wonderful and magical as we are. I am humbled every day that we created that space, that home, with Subsdance; and now, we will have two 💜
